Teachers working in a classroom

Dear North Marion Families and Community,

We hope you're having a great break! We want to say a big thank you to all of you for supporting the children in our school community. We know that this year's break has been a little longer for students, and we really appreciate your understanding and support in giving our staff the opportunity to engage in professional learning together this week. It's important for our teachers and support staff to have time to learn and grow so they can better support all of our students.

During our "Learning Summit" this week, all staff had the chance to participate and share their knowledge with each other. They were able to choose from a wide range of topics, including math and reading strategies, technology skills, suicide prevention, student and staff health and wellness, support for multilingual learners, learning theories, classroom support for students with specific learning disabilities, drug and alcohol prevention, workplace safety, nutrition, and much more. It was great to see staff from different schools and levels learning together, and we want to thank you again for helping us make this opportunity possible. (And thank you PTO for the delicious pies)!

As we take time to be grateful for the things we have, we can't help but feel thankful for the chance to work and learn with the amazing students in our North Marion Schools. They constantly make us proud, whether it's by solving difficult math problems, winning state soccer championships (congratulations girls!), completing robotics missions, coming to school every day, learning a new language, making breakfast for our veterans, surviving outdoor school, writing their name for the first time, helping others, being kind when they think no one is watching, or any of the other examples of learning, growth, and good character they demonstrate daily. We are incredibly proud of them and grateful for the inspiration they provide.

Thank you again for all your support. Enjoy the rest of your break! We hope you have time to do things that make you happy, and we look forward to seeing you next week!

With Spirit,

Bil
