The North Marion Girls Soccer Team dominated in round 1 of the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) 4A State Championships on Wednesday.

The girls bested Pendleton 4-0. Here’s a quick round-up of the game, courtesy of Coach Ben Bonser:

Time      Goals                    Assists

25         Saylor Swanson    (Isabel Doubrava earned a penalty kick)

27         Saylor Swanson     Isabel Doubrava

33         Saylor Swanson

45         Adrie Lader             Caile Lader

“Allyson Coulombe had one save, and our defense registered its 10th clean sheet,” Bonser said. “North Marion had 82% possession, registered 27 shots with 15 on goal to Pendleton's 1 shot on goal.”

A clean sheet means no goals scored against the team, and that bit about shots and possession means North Marion controlled the ball! Way to go, North Marion!

The North Marion Girls Soccer Team will now face off against Scappoose in the quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Canby High School stadium. Kickoff will be at noon.
