Outdoor School is Here!!!

Dear Parents:

This October your child has the opportunity to participate in a residential Outdoor School program.  Your child’s sixth grade class, teachers, and YOU (if you are willing to chaperone) will be attending the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry’s Program in October in Newport, OR.  This opportunity is funded through the state,  For more information on OMSI’s program, visit their website at https://omsi.edu/camp-gray/.

The staff at OMSI want to emphasize that this is an educational program where students attend school 24-hours a day in a beautiful outdoor setting. Outdoor School is an extension of the classroom, offering a common-sense, practical approach to learning. Best of all it supplies a pleasurable learning experience in which students display a genuine enthusiasm for their studies.

North Marion and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry have taken every precaution to insure your child’s comfort, health, and safety during their three day/two night experience.  North Marion will manage health concerns, oversee medications and treatments necessary to students on site. We need all parents to fill out the Health and Medical Form to ensure safety for all.

Times: School time! Students will get to school at the regular time on Wednesday and then go to Outdoor school at 9am. We will be back on the last day of the trip in time for all students to take the bus home (or whatever transportation they usually take)

If you need more information or a permission slip please contact you Childs homeroom teacher
