To ensure North Marion students have the quality teachers they deserve, and to ensure that educators are objectively evaluated and supported in their important work, we need a process that strengthens retention, supports educator growth, fosters improvements in student learning, and factors in the conditions in which teaching professionals work. A comprehensive, integrated teacher evaluation and development system – driven by practitioner knowledge and experience – is critical. This framework breaks new ground in advancing that mission.
Every child deserves an effective teacher. And every teacher, when evaluated for effectiveness, deserves an objective process that integrates evaluations into ongoing professional growth. These premises are fundamental to North Marion’s Educator Effectiveness Framework, which was created by teachers, classified personnel, a counselor, school board member, and administrators to integrate evaluations into a continuum advancing teacher practice and student learning.
