Note:  Revisions may occur at the discretion of School Board Chair due to emergency or special matters to conduct the business of the district.

 

Regular Sessions: The NMSD School Board meets at 6:00 p.m. on the second Monday of each month for a regular business meeting according to Public Meetings Law (ORS 192.610-192.710).

Work Sessions shall be scheduled as needed: The School Board meets at 6:00 p.m. as needed unless announced otherwise on the fourth Monday of each month for a work session. Work sessions provide opportunities to discuss specific topics in greater depth.

All Regular Business Meetings and Work sessions are held in the District Training/Conference Meeting Room #201 at the Middle School at 20246 Grim Road NE, Aurora, Oregon unless otherwise posted. All Meetings are open to the public; however public comment is reserved for Regular sessions.

Executive Sessions
The School Board may convene an executive session before or after a regular session or work session under the authority of Oregon Revised Statutes 192.660(1) and 192.660(2) for the following topics: (Note: News media may attend but cannot report on the content of the sessions).
(a) Employment;
(b) Dismissal or Discipline of Employees, Board Members, Employee or Contractor;
(d) Labor Negotiations;
(e) Real Property Transactions;
(f) Exempt Public Records;
(g) Consult with Legal Counsel;
(h) Evaluation of Superintendent Executive sessions are closed to the public in accordance with ORS 192.690 (1)

Public Complaints
Complaints are handled and resolved as close to their origin as possible. The Board advises the public that the proper channeling of complaints involving instruction, discipline or learning materials is as follows: 1) Teacher; 2) Building principal; 3) Superintendent; and 4) School Board Chairperson. Any complaint about school personnel will be investigated by the administration before consideration and action by the board.
