From the Superintendent ....
Dear Community Members,
Thank you for passing the North Marion Bond and investing in our community. The North Marion School Board, parent leaders, staff, students, local media, and citizens all contributed to the bond’s successful passage. While the first phase is now complete, the next phase involves a great deal of planning, input and the creation of an oversite committee. I will begin to develop a draft timeline of the key steps in the process and post it on the website in the next week or two as details begin to emerge.
The North Marion School District is four generations strong and planning for the future. Our community values education and has chosen to invest in a new building for our high school students and a range of safety and climate improvements designed to provide all North Marion School District children a great campus. Your investment will help us build strong future community members who will pay forward your investment as stewards of the next generation of Huskies. November is National Gratitude Month.
Showing our gratitude gives us a chance to show our appreciation for our friends, neighbors, family, colleagues and community. Take a minute to watch a beautiful cinematography "moving art" short film by Louie Schwartzberg. His message: open your heart and feel grateful for this day, the beauty of this planet, the people we meet. Gratitude: The short film by Louie Schwartzberg.
Friday, November 10th , Schools are closed in observation of Veteran’s Day Holiday on Saturday Nov.11th which is the day we take time to honor the accomplishments and sacrifices generations of veterans have made on behalf our country. We say thank you!

Following more than a year of research, planning and Long-range Facilities Task Force meetings ... the North Marion School Board of Directors voted to place a bond measure on the November ballot that would re-invest in our worn out systems, add safety features to our schools, increase educational opportunities and create an inclusive hub for all of our community.
We have included several documents that provide a more in-depth look; anticipated costs; the project list, comparative tax rates, and graphics of our conceptual master plan.
If you have any questions regarding the Bond, please contact me personally at 503-678-7101 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org

Back To School ...After a long, hot, busy summer it is wonderful to see children back in school! No matter their age, they are greeting fellow students, making new friends and beginning their busy school lives. Teachers are saying quite often “it’s going to be a great year!” and I agree.
The North Marion School District is a strong community with a rich history, pride in its accomplishments based on a willingness to work hard, and a commitment to kids. Our district is a place where every family from Aurora, Broadacres, Butteville, Donald, and Hubbard come together to raise the next generation of Huskies!

Back to School Night was a huge success with hundreds of students and parents filling the campus. Community Partners and delicious hot dogs awaited attendees as they walked the halls. New classrooms were discovered, locker combinations were practiced and friends were reunited at the two hour event. Teachers greeted their new students, met parents and gave tours of their classrooms, while school board members were stationed at kiosks in each building with information on the upcoming bond election on the November 7th ballot.
